OPEN CALL: Nothing From Nothing Residency

Nothing From Nothing is a fleeting residency at LIMBO Project Space between 19th – 21st April. We are looking for a resident to join us and are welcoming applications from local visual artists, writers, composer/musicians and performance artists as well as scientists, activists, teachers, students, or any kind of creative thinker.

Inspired by the extensive revisions, suggestions and edits made by Ezra Pound to T.S. Eliot’s manuscript of The Waste Land, this fleeting, collaborative residency in Margate will examine editing as a creative process. Ten professional artists will come together in Margate, the area where Eliot himself found inspiration for the seminal poem.

Working in pairs, the artists will take a section of The Waste Land as a starting point, and over two days respond through collaborative practice. The process and outcomes will be shared with the public at LIMBO on the evening of Saturday 21st April with the artists deciding on the style of this presentation. This will be followed by a hosted open format discussion for the public and invited guests - addressing the responses of the artists to The Waste Land, creative collaboration, and the arts in Margate. Documentation from the residency will be on display at LIMBO on Sunday 22nd April, and available as part of The Waste Land Edits.

The opportunity is free to apply, however we regret we are unable to provide an artists fee or cover any expenses. We do however believe this will be an excellent opportunity to collaborate in a dynamic and exciting weekend full of ideas sharing, making, and discussion.
